Item - Aloo Pyaaz
Serves - 3 to 4
Ingredients -
- 3 medium sized onions, finely chopped
- 3 medium sized potatoes, peeled & cubed
- curry leaves, 8 to 10
- salt to taste
- dhaniya zeera powder, 1 tsp
- chilli powder, 1 - 2 tsp
- turmeric powder, 1 tsp
- green chillies, big cut, 2 to 3
- oil, 2 tbsp
- mustard seeds, 1 tsp
- garlic, 2 to 3 pods crushed
Method -
- Pour the oil in the pressure cooker.
- Once it heats up, add the mustard seeds, allow it to crackle
- Add in the curry leaves, green chillies & garlic
- Stir fry for 2 minutes taking care not to burn the garlic.
- Add in the onions.
- Cook for 5 to 10 minutes till light pink.
- Add in the masala - salt, chilli powder, turmeric powder & dhania zeera powder.
- Stir for a few minutes, mix in the potatoes and toss well till well covered.
- Pour in about 11/2 to 2 cups of water (depending on your choice of gravy thickness).
- Pressure cook for 3 whistles, slow flame for 5 minutes.
- Serve hot with khichdi or plain rice or with phulkas or jowar rotis.
